Engineering , textile and apparel exports increased by more than 6% in FY25

                                 Engineering, textile and apparel exports frew by more than 6% in 2024-2025 over the previous year , according to data shared by the Union commerce Ministry , 
                                Engineering goods shipments grew 6.74% year on year in 2024-2025 over the previous year, touching 1165.67 dollor billion in 2024-2025 compared with 109.3 billion in 2023-2024 . Textile and apparel exports registered 6.32% growth in FY25 compared with FY24 . 
                                            However , the additional duties imposed by the U,S. on iron and steel and auto components are set to hit the engineering exports sector, according to EEPC india . There can be a potential annuals drop of 4-5 billion in engineering shipments to the U,S, Besides, there will be massive competition from china in other markets as it will push its products, chasing new regions to de-risk the U,S, said pankaf chandha chairman of EEPC  India .

India trade deal soon, says Trump

  U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that India and the U.S. will have a trade deal soon. He said the ongoing talks on the proposed India-U.S. bilat-eral trade agreement (BTA) are "coming along great".Indian officials, howev er, believe that it will take at least two months even to work out an early tranche che with limited commitments restricted to a few goods. Sources said the first full tranche of the agreement may take as long as six months. "India [trade talk] is coming along great. I think we'll have a deal with India," Mr. Trump told re-porters on Tuesday at the White House.Earlier on Tuesday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the U.S. was "very close" to a trade deal with India.Significantly, he said it was "easy to negotiate" with India because the is-sues were with regard to "very high tariffs" and they could be confronted directly.
